The aim of the game NYT Connections is to "Make 4 Groups of 4 Words Each That Has Some Connection".
If your selection of words is correct, you will see a visual group formation with all the selected words.
Once you find all the 4 logical Connections, you WIN the game.
It is quite possible that you may make a mistake while grouping the words. The game provides you with a maximum allowed 5 mistakes. On every mistake done due to your wrong guess of words that may form a group, the allowed mistakes count decreases by 1.
You lose the NYT Connection Game if all of your 5 Allowed Mistakes are exhausted before you are able to form 4 logical groups of words.
Once you lose the NYT Connections game, you will have 2 options. First is to retry the same puzzle or to select a completely new set of words.
